The woman that I put in charge of ordering our office supplies is on vacation so I have to do it this week. She offered to go ahead and put in the order for the month, right before she left but I thought that it was something that I needed to learn anyway. She uses an online discount office supplies company and does everything through the web. I figured that it cannot be too hard; it might take me a little longer than what it takes her but I will get it.

Two of my other employees gave me a last minute order and that kind of threw me for a loop but I do this all the time to the girl who usually orders for me. I guess if she can handle last minute orders, then I should be able to handle last minute office supplies orders too.

It is quite funny to think that had she not taken vacation, I would still be clueless on how the online discount office supplies site works. People should really learn all of their employee’s jobs, just in case they actually have to do them one day. I am thinking that even having one additional person besides myself, that can do this would be a good idea.

I have started selling silver jewelry online and have been making some pretty good money at it. I hired a really good website design company to help me have a really great site and it went live about six months ago. It was slow going at first and made me doubt my decision to sell silver jewelry, but then the sales started to pick up and I love every minute of it.

I hand out cards all over town with the name of my site on it and tell people that I make and sell silver jewelry, just so they understand what the site is about. I am just learning to track my customers and am putting together a client email list so that I can email them about sales, or discontinued items in the future.

I have gotten great reviews back from most of my clients on how nice my jewelry is and how fast the shipping was too. I want to be known as one of the best when it comes to selling silver jewelry. I know that it will take some time, but I am willing to wait. The extra money that I am making from the sales, is all going back into promoting the site and working towards getting it to rank really well on the search engines.
